Zero: Katrina Kaif says, Shah Rukh Khan wanted her to do the film

There’s a reason to why Shah Rukh Khan is referred as a charmer in the Bollywood industry. It’s not only his sheer acting skills that have helped him fetch that tag, but also his behavior towards his co-star, his leading ladies. Recently, Katrina Kaif was also reportedly in all praise for the actor. There are reports doing the rounds that if it had not been for Shah Rukh Khan, perhaps Katrina Kaif might not have been a part of ‘Zero’.

According to the reports, Katrina Kaif herself said Shah Rukh Khan played a major role in landing her the part in ‘Zero’. The actress said that Shah Rukh wanted her to do the role of Babita Kumari. If reports are to be believed, then the actress also went on to state that Shah Rukh Khan always pushes the best out of the others and makes sure that his leading ladies shine out in the movie.

Spilling more beans on her character as Babita Kumari, who is a superstar in the film, Katrina Kaif reportedly said that there’s no similarity between her and the part she is playing. The actress said that the whole idea was just to show that irrespective of all the love and fame, a person can feel incomplete and vulnerable; even if Babita would have been a doctor and not actress, the plot would have been the same.

There are also reports stating that initially, Katrina Kaif wanted to play Anushka Sharma’s character of Aafia Bhinder. The amount of effort and research Anushka did for her part lured Katrina a lot, however, over a period of time she understood that her character is more complex and would be a different journey altogether.

The Aanand L. Rai directorial ‘Zero’ brings the ‘Jab Tak Hain Jaan’ trio Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif back together. The movie is slated to hit the box office on December 21.
