Rumours are abuzz that Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif could reunite for the third time on the big screen for Farah Khan’s Satte Pe Satta remake! The original film starred Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini

For months now speculations have been abuzz about Shah Rukh Khab’s next film. After his last film Zero which starred Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in addition to SRK was poorly received by the critics and at the box-office the Bollywood superstar has been tight-lipped about his next project. However now rumours are abuzz that his next might once again be with Katrina Kaif and the two superstars could be coming together for Farah Khan’s next directorial venture.

According to a tweet by film trade analyst Sumit Kadel there is strong buzz around SRK’s next project being the Satte Pe Satta remake and Katrina will be his leading lady. We already know that Farah Khan is set to direct a film which is being produced by Rohit Shetty and his production house. However no information about the film has been confirmed by any official source.

Consequently we suggest that you take this piece of rumour with a pinch of salt as neither SRK and Katrina nor Farah Khan have confirmed these rumours or even hinted at it. “SattePeSatta remake featuring SRK is on cards as per strong hearsay in trade. Farah Khan might direct it. All rumors until things get official” Sumit Kadel’s tweet read.

Satte Pe Satta the 1982 comedy-action film directed by Raj N. Sippy which starred Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini in the lead. While it wasn’t a box-office juggernaut back when it released yet over the years it has become a cult classic in Bollywood. The film also starred Ranjeeta Kaur Shakti Kapoor Amjad Khan Paintal Kanwaljit Singh Sachin Pilgaonkar and several others. Amitabh Bachchan had essayed a double role in the film.

If this rumour turns out to be true it’ll be an excellent opportunity for SRK to collaborate with his close friends Farah and Katrina however one has to keep in mind that Katrina is also signed to star in Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi which stars Akshay Kumar in the lead. So if the Satte Pe Satta remake was to go on floors it can’t happen before Sooryavanshi wraps shooting. Which means that the film won’t begin before next year if it does at all.
