Last week on Friday we finally saw the release of the much talked about film Student of the Year 2. Starring Tiger Shroff Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria the film which is a sequel to Student of the Year opened on a steady note. Following this the Punit Malhotra directorial saw good growth in collections over its opening weekend thanks to no competition from other Bollywood releases.

In this box office report we take a look at the opening weekend collections of Student of the Year 2 which comparing the same to previous Bollywood releases of 2019. Collecting Rs. 38.83 cr Student of the Year 2 manages to surpass previous releases like Uri – The Surgical Strike that collected Rs. 35.73 cr Luka Chuppi that collected Rs. 32.13 cr Badla that collected Rs. 23.20 cr and Romeo Akbar Walter that collected Rs. 20.85 cr to become the sixth highest opening weekend grosser of 2019.

However despite the wide release across 3000+ screens the business of Student of the Year 2 does not manage to out beat the collections of a few other releases like Kesari that collected Rs. 78.07 cr Gully Boy that collected Rs. 72.45 cr Kalank that collected Rs. 62.75 cr Total Dhamaal that collected Rs. 62.40 cr and Manikarnika – The Queen Of Jhansi that collected Rs. 41.35 cr.

As of now with Student of the Year 2 still running in theatres expectations are that the business of the film will cross the Rs. 50 cr mark by the end of the week. However given the fact that the film caters mainly to multiplex going audience in metros it remains to be seen whether the business of Student of the Year 2 goes on to become one of the highest grossers of 2019.
