“Hugh Jackman’s upcoming performance in 'The Frontrunne'r has fooled some people into thinking he deserves an award” said the 'Deadpool 2' star.
Ryan Reynolds is getting into the political trend well sort of.
The 42-year-old Deadpool 2 star is up to his old trolling tricks again with a faux political ad poking fun at X-Men alum Hugh Jackman.
On Friday Reynolds took to Twitter to post a video of the ad captioning the post “How well do you really know @RealHughJackman?”
The video depicts images of Jackman’s current film The Frontrunner in which he plays former senator (D-CO) Gary Hart who becomes the Democratic frontrunner in the 1988 presidential election.
“Hugh Jackman’s upcoming performance in The Frontrunner has fooled some people into thinking he deserves an award” said Reynold’s who is narrating the ad “but before voting begins some people should consider these facts.”
The parody makes light of how Jackman is a frontrunner for the 2018 awards season.
The video also sees Reynolds taking pointers from real political ads by revealing facts that voters would not know about Jackman: “Hugh Jackman isn’t his real name its Hugh Michael Jackman” continued the actor “Hugh Michael speaks with a charming accent but he’s actually from Milwaukee. He then walked off the job on Wolverine adding to unemployment.”
Reynolds concludes the video by complimenting the Aussie star “Is this the type of amazing and nice person we want delivering a preachy liberal speech this award season?”
“Or maybe there’s a real foreigner from a bordering country who would really love it a lot” said the actor in the video which is followed by a photo of a serious looking Ryan Reynolds.
The Frontrunner opens in theaters Nov. 21 and also stars Vera Farmiga J.K. Simmons and Alfred Molina.
